Authentication

DBTable uses Clerk for secure user authentication, providing a seamless sign-in experience and access to enhanced features for authenticated users.

Getting Started

Signing In

1. Click the Sign In button in the navigation bar
2. Choose your preferred authentication method:
   • Email and password
   • Google OAuth
   • Other supported providers
3. Complete the authentication flow
4. You'll be redirected back to the application

User Profile

Once signed in, you can access your user profile by clicking on your profile picture or name in the navigation bar. The profile displays:

• Your name and email address
• Account creation date
• User ID for reference

Protected Features

Authenticated users have access to additional features:

• Cloud Storage: Your data is automatically saved to the cloud
• Enhanced Storage Limits: Higher file size and storage limits
• Cross-Device Sync: Access your data from any device
• Protected Pages: Access to premium features and settings

Anonymous vs Authenticated Users

Anonymous Users

• Data stored locally in browser
• Limited storage capacity
• Data lost when clearing browser data
• Basic file upload limits

Authenticated Users

• Data stored securely in the cloud
• Higher storage limits
• Persistent data across devices
• Enhanced features and capabilities

Managing Your Account

Signing Out

To sign out of your account:

1. Click on your profile in the navigation bar
2. Select Sign Out from the dropdown menu
3. You'll be redirected to the home page

Account Settings

Access your account settings through the user profile menu to:

• Update personal information
• Manage authentication methods
• View account details
• Configure preferences

Troubleshooting

Can't Sign In?

• Ensure you're using the correct email address
• Check your internet connection
• Try refreshing the page
• Contact support if issues persist

Lost Access?

• Use the "Forgot Password" option on the sign-in page
• Check your email for reset instructions
• Contact support for additional assistance
