Who we are

This policy covers the dbtable.app website, the web app at dbtable.app/app and the dbtable.app desktop app for Windows and macOS. Questions about privacy go to privacy@dbtable.app.

The web app

Everything you create in the web app (tables, rows, views, folders and settings) is saved in your browser’s own storage (localStorage) on your device. It is never uploaded. The app has no server-side database, and its security policy stops it from connecting to any other site.

Because your tables never reach us, we can’t see them, recover them or delete them for you. Clearing your browser’s site data deletes them; exporting a CSV file or a JSON backup from the app is how you keep a copy.

The desktop app

The desktop app saves your tables to a single database file in the app’s data folder on your computer, and copies you choose to save go where you put them. Its version history is kept next to that file, and automatic backups go to a folder you pick, if you choose one. It makes no network connections of its own: the Mac app doesn’t even have permission to use the network. It remembers its window size and position, on your computer only.

If you open a link from the app, such as a URL in one of your tables, it opens in your web browser, and that website’s own privacy policy applies.

App stores

The desktop app comes from the Microsoft Store and the Mac App Store. Microsoft and Apple handle the download and updates under their own privacy policies; we never see your store account. They give us summary reports, such as the number of downloads per country, which don’t identify you.

If you have allowed your computer to share crash reports with app developers, Microsoft or Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports. We use them only to fix bugs.

This website

The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Its fonts, scripts and videos are served from dbtable.app itself, so your browser doesn’t contact other companies to show it.

Like any website, the hosting provider that delivers the pages handles technical information your browser sends with each request, such as your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser type. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don’t use it to identify, track or profile you, and we don’t combine it with anything else.

If you email us

We use your email address and message only to reply to you, and delete them when they’re no longer needed for that.

Sharing and selling

We don’t sell, rent or share personal data, and we don’t show ads. We have no data about you to sell.

Your control and your rights

Your tables are fully under your control: export them as CSV or JSON, delete them under Settings → Delete all data, or remove the app. Since we hold no personal data from the apps, there is nothing for us to hand over or erase.

For anything about this website or emails you have sent us, you can ask to see, correct or delete your data at privacy@dbtable.app. If you live in the EU, the UK or another region with data protection laws, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

dbtable.app isn’t aimed at children, and it collects no personal data from anyone, children included.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If we ever wanted to collect data in a new way, we would say so here first, and in the app’s “What’s new”.
